Cargill gets approval for acquisition of Olpo in Romania

Cargill has received approval from the Romanian competition authorities for the acquisition of the oilseed crushing, refining and bottling company, Olpo.

The acquisition provides Cargill with first class production facilities in Podari and Craiova and a skilled workforce of nearly 700 employees, who will be key to the continued success of the business and instrumental in its future growth. Cargill will now acquire Olpo’s two sunflower oil brands, a premium one, “Untdelemn de la Bunica,” and a regional one, “Olpo.”
