Description and Main Characteristics

Corn Oil

Main sourcing area: Europe
Seeds: Corn. The oil originates from the germ and not from the grains. This germ is only 8% of the grain and contains 45-50% oil
Main characteristics:

  • Corn oil has a reddish color.
  • Corn oil adds a typical sweet flavor to your dishes. Using the oil for frying or roasting, gives the fried product a brown color

Use: salads, wok, frying, grill & roasting

 

Groundnut Oil

Main sourcing area: Nigeria, Senegal, Argentina
Seeds: Groundnuts (peanuts) contain 45-55% oil
Main characteristics:

  • Groundnut oil coagulates at low temperatures; this is a natural crystallization and disappears when the oil is stored at room temperature. This effect has no impact on the quality of the oil.
  • Groundnut oil adds a typical nut flavour to your dishes

Use: salads, wok, frying, grill & roasting

 

Grapeseed Oil

Main sourcing area: Italy
Seeds:Grape seeds contain 12-13% oil.
Main characteristics:

  • Rich in omega 6 fatty acids
  • Greenish color

Use: Salads, fondue, grill & roasting

 

High Oleic Sunflower Oil

Main sourcing area: Europe and Russia
Seeds: High oleic Sunflower seeds contain 40-45% oil.
Main characteristics:

  • Rich in Vitamine E
  • Rich in mono-unsaturated fatty acids
  • Bright color

Use: Salads, Frying, wok, grill & roasting

 

Soybean Oil

Main sourcing area: Europe, Russia, Canada, USA, South America, Asia
Seeds: Soybeans contain 18-20% oil.
Main characteristics:

  • Rich in omega 6 and omega 3 fatty acids
  • Rich in Vitamine E

Use: salads, grill & roasting

 

Palm Olein

Main sourcing area: Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Costa Rica, Colombia, Ecuador, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Papua/New Guinea
Seeds: The palm fruit contains 40-60% oil. Palm olein is the liquid fraction of palm oil. The oil contains less saturated fatty acids and more unsaturated fatty acids
Main characteristics:

  • Rich in tocotrienols
  • Palm olein has a reddish colour
  • Palm olein has a high heat stability and is used frying oils

Use: Frying, grill & roasting

 

Rapeseed Oil

Main sourcing area: Europe
Seeds: Rapeseeds contain 40-45% oil.
Main characteristics: Rich in omega 3 fatty acids
Use: Salads, grill & roasting

 

Sunflower Oil

Main sourcing area: Europe, Bulgaria, Romania, Russia, Ukraine
Seeds: Sunflower seeds contain 40-45% oil
Main characteristics:

  • Rich in Vitamine E
  • Rich in omega 6 fatty acids
  • Bright color
